An Analysis of the Status of Women Leadership in Education Sector of the Catchment Areas of Wolaita Sodo University

The purpose of this study was to investigate causes for the underrepresentation women in top positions education sector catchment areas Wolaita Sodo University. Hence, realize purpose, secondary school teachers, principals schools, and supervisors all levels, heads offices departments Dawro administrative zones were used as target population. In order make manageable, sample schools teachers selected by simple random sampling technique, through purposive techniques. Descriptive survey research design concurrent mixed approaches applied. Both close-ended open-ended questionnaires unstructured interviews collect data. Frequency counts, percentages employed quantitative data questionnaire. Data qualitative questionnaire narrated sake triangulation. finding showed that underrepresented due self-related factors, socio-cultural institutional economic political-legal factors leadership primary principal ship positions, supervisory positions. Thus, it concluded though Federal Democratic Republic Ethiopia has taken a number affirmative actions stipulated issue empowering constitution, yet strikingly south Ethiopia, particularly sector. Therefore, recommended taking into account are half population, talented management advantage gender diversity educational institutions, government large society should strive towards women.
